    Borderlands Festival is a music and arts festival launching this September within the walls of the historic Carlisle Castle.

    Borderlands Festival is in Carlisle Castle, Castle Way, Carlisle, CA3 8RN.
  • What are the opening & closing times?
    Gates open 2pm, last entry 6pm. Event finishes at 11pm. Anyone choosing to leave the festival cannot regain entry.
  • Where can I buy tickets?
    All tickets can be bought VIA our ticket partner
  • Is their camping at the festival?
    No Borderlands is a city centre festival with no camping however the site is within easy travel distance to all local transport links and accommodation.
  • Are there any age restrictions?
    Yes, Borderlands Festival is an over 18’s event. We operate a challenge 25 system so please bring a valid form of photo I.D with you we accept a valid passport or drivers/provisional drivers’ licence.

  • How do I get to the festival?
    The festival is within 5 minutes walk of Carlisle city centre.
  • Can I park at the festival?
    Yes there is off site pay parking available next to the castle on Devonshire Walk. Please note operating times and costs vary.
  • What other transport links are available?
    The festival is also within 10 minute walking distance from the cities train and bus stations.
  • When can I find out set times?
    The set times will be released in the weeks before the event on our website.
  • Can I bring food or drink?
    You cannot bring your own food or drink into the festival we will have a full bar service available and local food suppliers onsite throughout the event.
  • Can I pay with cash?
    We operate a fully cashless site. All payments are taken on card at all bars and vendors.
  • Can I leave and re-enter the site?
    No pass outs are allowed. Anyone choosing to leave the festival cannot regain entry.

  • What food will be available?
    The site is entrance and exit are VIA the main castle gate on Castle Way.
  • Do you have disabled access and viewing areas?
    Yes, the site has suitable access for those with additional needs and we will also be providing a designated viewing area.
  • Is there first aid facilities on site?
    Yes, we have a dedicated trained team to help if you have an accident or feel unwell. This will be signposted on the day.
  • Are there searches in place upon entry?
    Everyone entering the site will be searched for any banned items or illegal substances. Anyone found trying to enter the site with anything deemed to be illegal or dangerous will likely be denied entry.
